Audio playback performed as it would on other, more popular programs. When users are working with karaoke files, the size of the lyrics and the screen can be adjusted. The software is periodically scanned by our antivirus system. Additional menus can be opened to control track details and configure the sound returned along with the tempo. The download version of QMidi Pro for Mac is 2.9.6. Just below are buttons for playback, including play, stop, forward, and back. A slider indicates the position of the audio file currently playing. When the program is started, a file menu pops up for selection of audio files for playback. The menu, which is not intuitive unless the user is very familiar with complex audio programs, contains dated graphics and very small buttons. The program lacks user instructions, but support for updates is available and additional program versions have fixed reported bugs. This menu can be dismissed after waiting a few seconds.
After the installation completed, the user is prompted to purchase the full version, which costs $12.
QMidi for Mac comes with a free trial version with a pop-up nag screen. While basically functional, QMidi for Mac's dated interface and lack of instructions could make it a less attractive download for all but the most experienced users. Finding suitable programs to play certain audio and karaoke files can be difficult.
